Another great weeks ski touring in Val Stura, with a really fun team! It’s not often that Rich and I get to work together – especially on skis – so we were split trail breaking duties and swap guiding notes during the week too.
As always in this quiet and less frequented valley, we found plenty of great untracked snow – but also some weak layers that we kept a close eye on for avalanche safety. On Thursday we enjoyed a ski mountaineering day on Monte Gorfi and on the final day temperatures were rising, so we switched aspects for a final summit and lovely ski down on spring snow.
