UK Rock Climbing

UK Rock Climbing

We offer rock climbing trips in most of the UK’s major climbing areas, including the Lake District, North Wales, Yorkshire, the Peak District and Scotland.  All trips are designed to be progressive with a mixture of skills training courses, and guided adventures.

Skills courses run at levels 1, 2 and 3 (in line with our alpine climbing courses) – each one being carefully designed to blend skills training into fun climbing days, so that you can build experience, lead your first climbs using leader placed protection, and gain all the skills you need to operate independently in the UK mountains in summertime.

Our guided rock climbing adventures are designed to complement our range of skills courses – offering a great way to increase your ‘mileage’, consolidate your skills, tick off a long held goal, or just enjoy some climbing on one of the UK’s great mountain crags or sea cliffs.

If you need some advice on the best trip for you, just get in touch for a chat.

For an overview of our climbing season, including trip dates and availability, check out the Dates and Prices Summary page.

Traditional leader protected rock climbing – known as ‘trad climbing’ – is the most widespread form of rock climbing in the UK, meaning that the UK has the biggest variety of traditional rock climbing anywhere in Europe.  Therefore, learning how to trad climb or improving your trad leading skills, is an essential part of becoming an experienced all round rock climber in the UK.

Trad climbing opens up a whole new world of adventure and having good trad leading skills is also essential if you want to progress further in alpine climbing and winter climbing too.
