The summer alpine season kicked off last week and I’ve just finished a great week climbing Mont Blanc with Ben, who was on last weeks intro alpine mountaineering course. We started with a couple of days completing acclimatisation – first climbing the Tour Ronde and then Mont Blanc de Tacul – before heading up the big one.
Conditions on the Blanc are pretty much perfect at the moment, with excellent cramponing conditions all the way. A cool northerly breeze kept us well wrapped up, but air clarity this week has been amazing, so the views on the mountain were some of the finest I’ve ever seen.
