Matterhorn Ascent

It’s no secret that conditions in the Alps so far this summer have been very fickle, varying between very dry and very snowy, so not ideal for making big ascents.  With that in mind, major congratulations to Rob for managing to Climb the Matterhorn today – and as always, big thanks to Chris Ensoll for some superb guiding  beer o’clock tonight…

Currently, the lower half of the mountain is dry, with a good snow covering on the upper slopes of the ‘roof’ – ie good climbing conditions – we’ll see how things pan out for the rest of the season.
