It was great to be back again this winter, running another La Grave off piste ski holiday for Alpine Guides – after a difficult few months for the village due to the main road closing last April due to a landslip. There is now a relief road open to light vehicles though, so the access situation is a little easier again.
Complicated avalanche conditions down in La Grave last week didn’t stop us finding plenty of good snow, with a great team. During the week we skied La Grave, Puy St Vincent, Les Chazalets and the Vallee de la Claree – highlights incuded a visit to the remote Combe Lardiere, where we followed fresh wolf prints up the valley and a superb final run down off the Signal de La Grave to finish the week.
