Here’s the video from this years Iceland ski touring trip back in May. The Troll Peninsula is a fascinating place to visit, with endless options for spring snow skiing on perfect angle slopes and even still the chance of powder on Northerly aspects at right the end of the season.
In March and early April, there’s still dark enough nights to catch the Northern lights and by late April into early May, almost continuous daylight mean touring is possible 24/7 to make best use of the weather.
In addition to the skiing, we spent a poor weather day visiting Godifoss and the Myvatn geothermal areas, finishing off with an obligatory visit to the outdoor thermal baths – great once in the water, but a very bracing dash to and from the changing rooms at 2 degrees C!
