This years half term holiday took us on an exploratory road trip across Sweden, checking out new venues for future trips. Principle amongst these was ski touring in Borgafjäll, a remote ski station in southern Lapland reputed to be ‘Sweden’s Japan’ – on account of it’s reliable snowpack and excellent tree skiing.
After running through the entire ABBA Spotify catalogue on the drive up, it was clear that the ‘remote’ bit was correct – but what about the skiing? Well, after 4 days enjoying lonely summits and skiing fresh untracked powder without meeting any other ski tourers, it fully lived up to expectations…
