Bespoke Alpine and Via Ferrata Week

Massive thanks to Pete, Sarah, Chloe and Floz for a really fun weeks’ guiding over in the Dolomites and Ortler regions of the Eastern Alps.  The remit for this  bespoke alpine climbing holiday was a big alpine peak, a comfortable night in an Alpine Hut and plenty of Via Ferrata.  Therefore we based ourselves in Val Gardena in the Dolomites for access to some of the best Via Ferrata in the Alps and also made a 2 day trip across to the Ortler region to climb a bigger alpine peak.

The Ortler trip was excellent; climbing Cevedale from the lovely Marteller Hut, we were the only people staying overnight in the hut and consequently had the whole peak to ourselves – I’ve skied here several times in winter, but this was my first summer visit, so it was great to re discover these lovely mountains in a different season.

Back in the Dolomites we enjoyed 4 varied days of Via Ferrata, picking a selection of longer and shorter days to suit the mood an energy levels – though with a team of successful fell runners, the energy levels were invariable pretty high…  Thanks guys for a really fun week and see you in the autumn!
