"High mountain crags abound in the English Lake District - the birthplace of british rock climbing. Great scenery and compelling lines are to be found across the grade range, with the emphasis on traditional multi-pitch climbing. The rock in the lakes is for the most part volcanic - providing good, long mountain routes."

Food and Accommodation
We run all of our courses on a guiding & instruction only basis. Food and accommodation must be paid for seperately. A good range of recommended accommodation options around the Lake District are provided with your joining instructions.

Travel
The South Lakes in particular can be reached very easily by train from most parts of the country - London to Windermere by train for instance takes 3 hours, which is far quicker than driving. Travelling by car, you just need to head up (or down, or across) the M6.

Ability and Experience
As with most mountain activities, rock climbing can be hard work (see fitness level 1-3+). Depending on the proposed itinerary, we will advise you as to the necessary standard required and suggest any appropriate preparation. For those looking to climb at the higher grades in particular, the more visits you can make to your local climbing wall or crag the better!

Equipment
All ropes and lead climbing protection are supplied by ourselves. You are expected to bring along personal clothing and equipment. For the more specialist items including harness and helmet, hire is available if needed.
