Hiring a Guide
When you hire a private guide you can go anywhere and do anything you want (subject to weather, conditions and experience!) This is the major advantage of booking your trip in this way and one we feel should be fully exploited. If you want recommendations for suitable climbs then we can easily suggest a program for you - or we can plan the trip together around your chosen objectives.
We offer private ice guiding itineraries with dates by arrangement during December - February. Prices are as per our private guiding rates.

Climbing Venues
We run most private ice climbing courses and guiding in the following locations: Chamonix, Cogne, La Grave and Kandersteg. For week long bookings, numerous other places are available including outside the Alps - previous trips have included visits to Arctic Norway amonst others.

Suggested Itineraries
Just contact us with your requirements and we'll send you a personalised sample itinerary to look at and discuss with ourselves and/or your group.

Food and Accommodation
We run all of our courses on a guiding & instruction only basis. Food and accommodation must be paid for seperately. A good range of recommended accommodation options are provided with your joining instructions.

Ability and Experience
As with most mountain activities, ice climbing can be hard work (see fitness level 2+3). We cater for all levels of experience and ability, from beginner to expert - however please be aware that for safety reasons, on longer more serious routes we cannot commit to making an ascent until we've seen how well you are currently climbing.

Equipment
All communal safety equipment (ropes etc) is provided by us. You are expected to come equiped with personal clothing and equipment. For the more specialist items (harness, helmet, ice axe, crampons and boots) hire is available locally if needed.
