And as ever you helped to make it a relaxed and fun experience " AM - July '06 Bespoke itineraries From late June through to mid September, bookings are arranged into weekly 5-6 day blocks due to the high demand we experience for guides - but outside these times we are often able arrange bookings for shorter periods. Just contact us to discuss your ambitions, so we can put together an appropriate itinerary tailored to your requirements. Standard Guiding Rates - apply for most alpine routes up to grade D (see notes below) and include guiding fees and use of the guides car (unless negotiated otherwise). Please note that we organise private guiding on a 'guiding fee plus expenses' basis - so when visiting areas away from our summer base in Chamonix, you must also cover guides' travel and accommodation expenses. Premium Guiding Rates For longer, more involved routes at grade D or above, premium guiding rates may apply and are paid as a supplement on a per route basis. As a guideline, routes that involve one of the following will generally fall into this category:
Eg. the Italian and Hornli Ridges on the Matterhorn are (at the upper end of) standard rate guiding routes, whereas the Zmutt Ridge and N Face are both premium rate routes for which we quote on an individual basis. If you have a particular big objective in mind, then please contact us for a quote so we can discuss the route, best time of year and conditions with you in more detail. Experience We cater for all levels of experience and ability, from beginner to expert. For more info see: alpine climbing course suitability Fitness As with most mountain activities, alpine climbing can sometimes be hard work (see fitness levels 2-4). We advise you to prepare well in advance with regular training and cardiovascular exercise and will advise you as to the fitness level required for any given itinerary. Equipment We will supply you with a full kit list. You are expected to come equiped with personal clothing and climbing equipment. Local equipment hire (including boots) is also available.
