Deposits + Payment A non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the final balance being due eight weeks prior to course starting date. For bookings made less than 8 weeks prior to course start date, full payment is required. We accept the following payment methods: Debit Card, Credit Card (+2.5% fee), Direct Bank Transfer, Personal Cheque. Please note that various fees and refunds apply to cancellations and course transfers. See our booking conditions for full details.
Health + Insurance You need to declare any conditions or long standing injuries that may be affected by the activities being undertaken. Medical disclosures are screened by senior guiding staff and Dr Jon Morgan, our company medical advisor - we reserve the right to request a medical certificate of fitness to participate, should we deem it necessary before accepting your booking.
For all overseas courses, you must purchase specialist mountaineering/off piste skiing rescue, medical and repatriation insurance to cover the dates, areas and activities involved. We advise that you purchase cancellation insurance for all courses you book. The following companies provide appropriate mountaineering insurance.
Risks and Dangers Whilst we maintain high professional standards of client care and safety, you must realise and understand that climbing, mountaineering and off piste skiing all take place in hazardous mountain terrain. The risks involved can be minimised by good skill and judgement - but certain dangers such as rockfall, icefall, avalanches or sudden changes in the weather are not always predictable and can never be entirely eliminated. We therefore draw you attention to the following Participation Statement:
Off piste skiing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.
When booking on any of our programs you must understand and accept the above participation statement. If you are not happy that by taking part in mountain activities you are accepting a certain level of risk, then you should not book on any of our courses.
Planned Itineraries Wherever possible we stick to planned itineraries, but mountain and weather conditions can sometimes interfere with such plans. Our guides must also assess your fitness and ability levels before embarking on any serious objective. If they decide that an objective should not be attempted, then a suitable alternative will always be offered. If your fitness or skills are in doubt however, we may have to exclude you from certain activities. This is very unusual, but can occur if you are not realistic about your current experience or fitness levels - or you do not prepare sufficiently for the trip (for advice on fitness and preparation, visit our mountain fitness page).
Charity Climbs & Challenge Events We do not accept bookings from groups or individuals participating in sponsored climbs or 'challenge events' of any kind - as the pressure to succeed on a single fixed objective can cause people to act in ways that conflict with mountain safety, or can make the trip less enjoyable for other participants. If we discover that you are seeking sponsorship or participating in such an event in connection with one of our courses, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without refund, or exclude you from furthur mountain activities whilst on the course - so please don't do it!
